Michelle Obama’s mother, Marian Robinson, dies at 86

Marian Robinson, mother of former US First Lady Michelle Obama, passed away peacefully at 86. She was a beloved figure during Barack Obama’s presidency, spending much of her time caring for her granddaughters, Malia and Sasha. Michelle Obama described her mother as her “rock” and a steady support for the entire family. Barack Obama praised her as “the least pretentious person” he knew. Robinson moved to the White House to support her daughter and son-in-law, even insisting on doing her own laundry. Known for her privacy, she often slipped out to visit friends. Recently, an exhibit at the Obama Presidential Center Museum was named in her honor.
